My wife has a bad habit of sticking her shooting hands thumb up for I guess windage. There is no problems when it's a revolver but I have had to go retrieve many a pistol after her 1st shot and the slide came back and put twin racing stripes on her thumb and she lets go of the pistol in a great hurry. Now she has her own S&W ladysmith .357. Now she can shoot and not nail her thumb
