Hit Wilson Lake this morning... Started out in the back of creeks fishing some Willow Fly hatches. Saw lots of fish breaking... fished popr's, and dead sticked them... threw grubs, finesse worms, etc... no takers. Moved onto deep boat houses and seawalls, and this was money. We boated several fish, mostly keepers... lost a few more too. Burger nailed a spawn recovering Largemouth that weighed in at 4 lbs 10 oz, surely would of been 6.5+ lbs with a full healthy belly, look at its head! Caught several nice smallies as well. All keepers on the seawalls came on spotstickers with Netbait finesse worms. We fished with our fairy wands (spinning reels) all day... which I must say I'm not to comfortable with.
Moved onto lake points, and missed a few fish on jigs, I got my first DD22 fish of the year... Got all six hooks in the mouth, totally nailed the bait.
Pretty good day considering there was little to no current, and water temp maxed out at 89 degrees!!! Best 5 probably went around 10-12 lbs.
Beautiful day to be in Alabama... Thanks for the lessons Burger.
Finally after a entire weekend on the lake, fishing every day for 8+ hours, I was so tired I just passed out on my bedroom floor, I think the picture is hilarious.
