Wilson Lake mid July

Rented a cabin on Wilson. Cabin is near Wheeler Dam. Will be fishing for bass mostly but will seek anything that bites if necessary. Any advice would be appreciated. thanks.

The lower end of wilson is deep and clear.summertime night fishing for smallmouth.
You might could fish shoal creek during the day and catch largemouth.
I don't know whats going on below wheeler this time of year
Just a few minutes to run up there and check it out

I grew up not far from there on Wheeler Lake. In July we fished Wilson at night. There are some huge smallmouth in that lake. Used to fish bear hair jigs and spinner baits for them. If you fish in the day, stay closer to Wheeler Dam in the current. Spinner baits and swim baits, but live bait can really be the ticket. Good Luck!
