Had our NATA night tourney on wilson last night. 6pm-230am. i got home and to bed about 530 this morning. was a slow night for lots of people, me included. not much current, basically none. we ended up getting 2nd place, but only because my partner had his limit for about 10lbs. i had 3 keepers for 4.3lbs... and not one smallmouth in the boat..

i think every fish we caught came off of worms. during the daylight hours we both put a keeper in the boat, mine from a texas rigged key lime finesse worm.. not sure of my partners color. we tried fishing shelfs into deep water, that was our successful pattern. we tried humps and submerged islands in the middle of the lake with no success... not even a bite.

once night fell i threw my black/blue jig with no success, unless you count catching rocks and breaking several jigs off success. i threw a finesse worm on my fairy wand (spinning reel). i hate my spinning reel, its a piece, i couldn't feel much, so i finally switched over to my curado and could actually feel some taps. we were getting hit by a lot of bream, and the bass we did catch were barely mouthing the bait, it was tough to tell with most of them it it was a fish or stick. the color of choice was black grape.

we got into some fish on a point at the mouth of a creek on the main lake and boated several fish. same situation, it was a point, but had a nice ledge to it. we also fished down the rock ledge from this point and boated a couple more.

and a tip for you non-night-fishermen out there like me.. don't be an idiot like yours truly and buy non-flourescent line.. its hard to see when the sun goes down.

with Bprice and minner luck today as they have a SCA catfish tourney on wheeler today. as of earlier today they had a 40 and a 20, with no current whatsoever.
