Wiring electronics

What is the best way to wire your electronics ( Chart plotter) ? Wire straight to the battery or wire to the fuse block ?

I would go off of the fuse block. You shouldn't need more than a 1/2 to 1 amp fuse. Either way you do it, you need to wire it through an in line fuse.

I believe lowrance calls for a 3amp fuse.

I never wire other than straight to the battery. Too many ways to get interference by sharing power sources.

+1 on interference. If only one I'd run it straight to battery with in line fuse of course. If multiple units set a new fuse panel just for your units only. From battery to new panel and from panel out I pulled 10ga. This is has solved all of my problems with my units, 3 years now no problems.

I run from the battery to a cut-off switch and then 1 wire to the console dedicated to electronics. Virtually no interference.....

I ran a wire straight to the battery with an inline fuse. I used a 3amp fuse. The Helix 7 seems to work better now.
