Next Saturday Freebird and I are fishing a Triton boat owner's TX on Old Hickory. There are 300 boats in the tournament and neither of us have fished that lake........nice........so some happy thoughts would be appreciated. I think it would be cool to win a $60,000 bass boat, don't you.

I will think it's much cooler,if you win that boat and give me yours!!!;) Seriously though, good luck to both of you!! Old Hickory is a pretty cool lake. I've only fished the banks, but I do know there is alot of wood up there!

You guys should do good. It is not unheard of for someone to win who has never been on a particular lake before. I'm sure you have spent a lot of time looking at lake maps and planning. The key could be not being biased toward a certain area like you might be if you knew the lake well. We will all be keeping our fingers crossed that you make a good showing.

Best of Luck --- although I think Skill has a lot to do with it,

good luck guys I hope you have the same kind of luck we did on that last tourney. When you see Freebird see if you can get him to send that pic emoPoke

GO GET `EM DAVO !! BLEDSOE CREEK .....CHECK OUT LAST MILE ON RIGHT WHERE IT GOES BACK TO ACTUAL CREEK.......START PAST THE COVE ON RIGHT THAT HAS THE CAMPGROUND....WATER 12-15 DEEP WITH A LOW ROCK BLUFF DOWN TO 12-18 FT .....
I USED TO FOLLOW MY NEIGHBOR DOWN THE BANK AFTER WORK AND WATCH HIM JERK 6-7-8 LB LARGEMOUTH ...DOING THE SCULL PADDLE AND JIG POLE-THING...THE ORIGINAL FLIPPIN`....WITH A JIG OR T-RIG.....
I FINALLY LEARNED HOW TO USE IT AND CAUGHT FEW IN 5 LB RANGE...
I LIVED ON THE CREEK INT LATE 70`S WORKIN AT THE NUKE PLANT AND WENT FISHIN` EVERY AFTERNOON

IF YOU CAN`T FIND ANYTHING ELSE.... GIVE IT A TRY..

Davo, MAN!!!! I wish you the best of luck!! Just keep your head on you, combine skills and knowledge with Freebird and I bet you have good results. You have got what it takes and just remember that!!!

Sounds like snuffy has a plan for you all.....MY ONLY CONCERN IS ....WHERE WILL FREEBIRD STAND??? with 63 rods on the deck it could be crowded...wishing you all God's speed and good luck....hope you win it and then take me fishin......FA

Thanks for all the support guys, really appreciated. And btw FA, I don't know where either of us will stand, I think Freebird has more stuff than me. :)

I wish you guys well. What pattern do you plan to fish? I would expect that the fish will be post spawn and settling into the summer pattern on the main lake. Is there a good topo map of the lake on line?

Well Thanks to you all for the good wishes. The only problem with the weekend is that between Davo and Me, we may have more stuff in my Truck than Bass Pro has in thier Nashville location. It appears that the two main patterns of fishing up there has been flipping or deep structure. We are hoping that the Tourney held on Friday (another triton deal) will help shed some light.

Snuffy, you can bet I will check out that creek though.

Thanks to you all,

By the way, I am willing to bet I do have MORE stuff than Davo.

Good luck fellas. I use to fish the PBF and that was 1 of the yearly stops. I know this goes against Davos normal " stay within a mile of the ramp" routine, which works really good for him by the way, but the creeks up river around the hwy. 231 bridge were always good for us. Also the farther you go up river the cooler the water temps. are. You can find bedding fish in the summer up there. Where ya putting in at? Bulls Creek? Dont pass up 1 of the many log jams on the main river without flippin a jig in it, especially the ones with current through them. Good top water fishing straight out in front of entrance to Bulls Creek, lots of laydowns on that big flat. Gallitan steam plant is good too, right in the discharge water. Thats a great lake, I think you guys will find it to your liking.
