Headed out on my friend boat, and we decided not to fight the wind,so we stayed in WT. Hit the docks hard and came away with a handful of keepers( some on a tomato colored worms and 2 off a spook). Next stop was the WT marina(around the tires) we didn't do as well, but myself I caught 2 good ones. One weighing right at 2 lbs. and my second was 3.7lbs. Not a bad evening for 3 hours. Oh I caught my last 2 fish on a big 10" zoom worm, not sure on the official color, but it was redish purple with green flakes.emoScratch

Almost sounds like their version of Junebug.

Sounds like you had a great night. ;)

if it was a Zoom product it was probably red shad/green. I have some of those in the 10" worm and its a great color for most lakes around here! Good report!

I'm about done with Zoom. I love their products but after one fish most are toast. I just found my old favorite on ebay, Gillraker. Those were about the best worms I've ever used.

I'm with you Davo. I love to use Zoom Big Critter Crawls, but their toast after one fish or several cast. Any suggestions on what to try in place of the Big Critter Crawl?

Davo, I don't know what you are complaining about, hear you tell it a bag would last you a long time no more than you usually catch.emoPoke Jmax

But when you compare the cost of Zoom plastics to other brands, you can't beat 29 cents per fish!

Davo, see me at the benefit tourney and I'll give you two packs of Gillraker worms...think the color is hot volcano?

Thats the way to diggem outa there fishinvol. The wind did you guys a favor keeping you in the wt area. There was a prety good method of making the plastic worms a little more durable in the bassmaster a few months back, I glanced back a few to see if I could find it with no luck. But the little plastic baits keep rolling off the shelf. There was one helpfull hint as to place a piece of clear plastic tubing around the middle and it would keep the hook from going through the worm its self. It was in the feb o6 isssue page 102.

I started using hooks designed specifically for soft plastics and can get a few more fish out of my worms now. The shank has a switchback bend near the eye. Mustad Ultra-Lock and Gamakatzu G-Lock are a couple that work well. They work exceptionally well with weightless Senkos, Flukes, Assassins & Dingers.

Of course you are right, worms do tend to stay in my boat for an inappropriate length of time. emoAngry

And everyone knows of my "buying issues".
