Had about an hour to kill this afternoon so I stopped by the Hwy 58 bridge over Wolftever as I was on my way home. Been wanting to try out some Yum Zellamanders I picked up (all I normally throw is Zoom). Caught two, one little spot and this largemouth. Did't have my golden rule or scales, but I guess it was 17"-18" and just shy of 3lbs. Kinda bad when you catch bigger fish from the bank than you do from your boat.

WS6Clint, great looking fish. It's good to know that the fish are on the area near the bridge. Was he on the rip rap or out from it? What time of day did you get out there? I would expect that a bunch of fish that have spawned out and are moving out of the creek stop off there. I usually catch spots there this time of year but often they will hit topwaters early and late.

It wasn't long ago when somebody I was fishing with made this excellent observation. Folks fishing from boats are almost always casting as close as they can to shore. While folks fishing from shore are always casting as far as they can out into the lake. emoScratch Go figure?

RSimms, In my case it's "When fishing from a boat I spend almost all my time trying to unsnag my hook off the bottom, and when fishing from the bank I spend almost all my time trying to unsnag from the trees"!!!

I know the feeling well mandopick. I always seem to be able to get hung really good when the fishing is the best and when I really see a bassy spot. Never fail spooking the best bass of the day you know?
