Well I had the pleasure today of fishing again with the legendary emoWorthy Jmax again today. I've never fished for crappie so I had to make due with bass fishing rigs. We headed out this morning around 7:30am and hit several of Jmax's favorite spots. We moved around several times trying to figure out where the cold front had pushed the fish. Eventually we determined that the best area was out from the shoreline and docks, closer to the "main lake". Allowing our orange and chartreuse jigs to drag along close to the bottom at depths usually around 8-10 feet, sometimes 15, seemed to work the best. Unfortunately we had to call the day a little short and head back in before we could really fill the boat. We ended up catching over 30 with 7 keepers Jmax generously offered to me. I've cleaned them and we are gonna cook'em up with some LM bass, hush puppies, and cole slaw for dinner tonight. emoHungry

I had a great time on my first Crappie adventure with Jmax as my guide emoToast and the weather was great emoSun, although a little cold early on.

Way to go there, Stump Jumper! That Jmax is a fishing machine isn't he? You did alright for cold front conditions. They won't stay out very long. They will be back shallow by the time I get back from Louisiana. I'm heading out tomorrow. emoBigsmile emoGeezer

Way to go SJ and Jmax.....good company with Jmax....I am surprized he did not offer you one of his ANTIQUES to fish with....LOL

FA I only had one rod rigged up with light line.emoDoh We have been hitting the G so much lately that I changed them over to heavy stuff. Yea.. me and SJ screwed up and you can tell that by looking at our post compared to Rsimms. We figured that out with only about an hour left to fish. I am really surprised those crappie moved as far as they did. They were thick out in the middle when only two days ago they were stacked on the docks and trees. I have no doubt if we had started in the area we ended we would have loaded the boat. As they always say that is why they call it fishing and not catching. Had a great time with SJ and enjoyed his company and stretching a line with him. Let's get out and go again.emoBigsmile Jmax
