I was wondering how others felt about the B.A.S.S. Master Classic Champion being referred to as the 'World Champion" - as some of the classic pros said quote "to win is to be the best bass fisherman in the world".
I really like BASS, and always will. In the past few yrs the FLW has come on the scene and some really good pros only fish the FLW due do rules they don't like in the BASS. some pros fish both series and I don't blame them.... when you're good - you're good! I like the FLW as well, so not taking anything away from either series.

So what I'm getting at is this. How can the Classic winner (any winner - not picking on Skeete Reese) be claimed as the worlds best if the winner didn't fish against ALL the best bass fishermen in the world?

I would like to see this put this to a real test. Take all the classic fisherman / fisher woman (lol) and take all the top finishers (same number of pros) from the FLW and put them into a true championship Finals. It's fished just like the classic except there are more pros fishing - the best of the best.
Then and only then - that winner - In my opinion, can say they are the best in the world! emoWorthy emoApplause

Good idea... many have thought the same thing.... BUT.... BUT..... its all about the money my friend... they dont want to share the sponsorship money that each series gets!!!

Same as Baseball,Football, and so on. Teams have been beaten by other teams but still win the World Series and the Super Bowl and are considered world champions.

Great Idea it would be cool to see the creme of the crop slug it out for a day or two. I wonder why someone hasn't tried to put this together. They do have a show on the Outdoor channel that puts one person from BASS against a person from FLW. They did a college one last year. I just can't remember the name off the top of my head. I think it was World Championship Fishing or something.
