The is the “Wounded Warrior Project” That Trace Atkins promises you a blanket for $19.00 a month.

Just when we think we have an honest organization for our veterans, this

comes out.

The information below was received from the local chapter of the Military
Officers Association of America, MOAA, Whom I trust to provide important

update.

The following excerpt from Burt Prelutsky's most recent MOAA column is

worth a look, Burt's assertions invariably hold water:

I recently pointed out in an article that I thought it was obscene that the
executive director of Wounded Warriors is paid well over $300,000-a-year. I
also wondered how the group could afford to advertise as extensively as it
does on Fox News.

But, I recently received an email from Dr. Richard Stiso that exposed exactly
how the charity spends the money it receives from patriotic Americans.

According to Guidestar, a group that investigates charities, the Wounded
Warrior Project might as well be run by the Mafia. In 2012, the WWP received
an astronomical $154,958,901, with a measly $4,857,084 going out in grants to
veterans’ organizations and $671,194 to individuals. That means that the
group only used 3.5% of the money it received for the purpose intended.

In the meantime, the Officers, Directors and Trustees hauled in $15,415,666
million, with Employee Benefits ($2,226,457), Office Expenses ($12,451,303),
Travel ($4,086,509), Promotional Items ($4,055, 567) and something called
Outside Services ($20,915,404) accounting for roughly 50% of what’s listed as
“Overhead Expenses.”

So just in case you thought it was just the V.A. That was filled with
back-stabbing traitors ripping off military veterans, you didn’t know the half
of it..

The WW was started for good reasons. $ got greed active as does all fundraising organizations. Sure there are costs to do the things to raise $ and there are very few people out there who do something for nothing. Then it becomes systematic to start taking from the funds to SUPPORT & therefore very little gets to intended programs.

Most fund raisers I have found to be this way, pull up a charity group & this is what you will find.

I like to support where I can see the results and $ get to the intention. Being a Viet Nam Veteran, I try to work with WW in support of actual events where I can participate, it may have an expense incurred for me, least I can see someone benefit.

I was in New Orleans in December, a street (begger) for lack of better description, a sign reading Viet Nam Veteran, homeless, need help. I stopped, shook hands, was wearing my Viet Nam Veterans hat, ask him where in Viet Nam he was. His eyes looked to my hat, his head went down, hesitated, then said he served during the Viet Nam era. He said he probably should not use the wording on the sign. I told him it was a theft of Valor & started to cut the sign up. Better judge meant got the best of me, gave him $5.00 & suggested he get a different game.. his head went down, sign was tucked away, I left. What happened afterwards, I'm unsure of. This happens a lot, dwelling on the sacrifices of others...Just hope he got the message.

With this said, join us this year for Fishing With A Soldier @ Grasshopper, April 25, 215. This is a event for those who want to give a day to some veterans, enjoy old history, lunch on the grounds all at no cost to the Veterans. Yes there is always a cost, those who supply the boat, tackle, food, time to promote and time to do the event. We are not requesting $, just ur help, participation & IF someone wants to give, bring a gift card, restaurant certificate, or something that can be presented to participants.

Guess I have vented enough, look to see those who want to see their assistance at work Thanks Gator for your research
