This was a strange season, all of rifle season SUCKED. I saw more deer Saturday than all of rifle season COMBINED, and killed three for the weekend.
I ended with 7 does, and my girl killed a doe.

No bone, but lots of freezer meat.

One doe with crossbow
Three doe with muzzleloader, one coyote as well, (plus my daughters doe)
And then three doe with rifle.
Oh, and a buddy gave me an elk.

Dang Spur, your becoming a killing machine. emoWorthy Seven doe and an elk, you must have one heck of a freezer. Your good till next year for sure I bet. emoTongue Jmax

I was beginning to think deer had become extinct. I didn't see any at all this year until I was taking my stand out of the woods (2 massive doe) then went with the girlfriend's dad and saw buck sign like crazy but not nary a deer....very strange season.

Doe and buck in muzzloader, Doe and buck same day rifle, TN.
2 midgets in GA

Still have 23 days in Ala........

Some pics for your viewing pleasure.

I had the best season I've ever had since I started hunting this year. 1 Doe during Bow, Wife killed 8 point and I killed a 4 point during muzzle, and 1 Doe, 1 4 point during Gun. I dint hunt at all after the second week of bow after I took the first doe because I wanted to give my wife the best chance of taking something during Muzzle Loader season.... It WORKED! I let more deer walk this season than I usually even see during a season. Now the work begins in a few weeks to prep for next year.

Way to rick em up!

I took 2-8 pointers and 2 does. Wish I could have got another doe late in the season or one of the big guys, but I wont complain. Cant wait to see what the late summer camera census turns up!

Hey Spur, That's a Jim Dandy pair of 'nannerheads' and good job of tending to the QDMA on your lease property...but you didn't make mention of the "Big One that got away", so all together that was a very good deer season for you...wonder if any of the neighbors got a poke at him or was he still leaving sign after the first of the year...if you get a snowfall it would be worth a trip to take a look-see if he is still kicking his heels around any of the property and get a better ideal of where he might haunt when the hunting pressure is on.

MD, nobody else claims to have seen him, I have a HUGE amount of woods around my area, some pretty steep and thick so its not uncommon for an old buck to stay hidden for years in the area.

Nothing special Hank's, Take fresh venison tenderloin, season, sear in hot pan until Med-rare, set aside. Bell peppers and snap peas with sesame seeds, sweated onions with Marsala wine. Slice meat, assemble plate and your done.
