Anyone ever seen one? Anyone HAVE one? Anyone have one they want to sell?

I'm looking for a project boat for my son and I to play with for his first boat and an 8' jon is what I've settled on. I know they exist, but they're really hard to come by. There's a company in California named Klamath that makes one, but ... grab your ankles, everyone ... the MSRP is almost $1500. Apparently, 8' jons used to be pretty easy to come by, but have since vanished. I want one ... bad. The plan is to put it on sawhorses and paint it, Rhino-line it, power it (250 Pro XS Opti?!?), and create a trailer for it for my son as his first boat. Sure, he's only 3, but when you're named after Hank Parker and you're the VP of Operations for Dixie Jig Works Custom Baits, your expectations are lofty...

Everyone keep their eyes open for me and I'd greatly appreciate it.

Boaters World has a 10 ft plastic boat (called a Prowler I think). Pretty nice looking vessel and I thought it was nicely priced at $599. Rated for a 7 horse but I am sure with the proper jackplate and rigging you could hang a Pro XS on it! Let me know who u get to insure it!

I know where a nice 1032 alumacraft with trailer and trolling motor is. I believe they want $700.00 for the whole rig.

Geez, 8' that is tiny. Heck I paddle whitewater kayaks that are longer than 8'.

I been in 10' jon, I didn't like it (to narrow). I think the plastic jons, since they have more foam floatation, would be alot safer for a young one.

Ditch the rhino lining, on boat that small, you are just eating up the already tiny weight capacity.
