wtb a lower unit for 1999 Johnson 225

turned out the knock is coming from the lower unit

i think j-MAX HAS A SEI, BUT NOT SURE.

I have heard that the sei are not holding up on the 225 hp but do fair on smaller engines

Yes, I have one. It is an SCI. They seem to not be holding up on the Evinrudes Fitch for some reason. I have been told it is the higher torck. This last time I sent it back before it broke and they fixed it. It also was knocking. I decided I was going to get one that was not an SCI due to what I had been told and what my experience on one with an Evinrude Fitch was. There are several out there on other brands that are doing fine. I am selling the one I have with a brand new drive shaft for $500.00. I paid $1,170.00 for them new so it is a deal for someone that wants to try one. emoThumbsup Jmax
