Looking for a rifle to deer hunt with. Cash is extreemly tight so I've been looking at the H&R Handi Series. (Single Shot w/ scope mount and 26" barrel)

Would like to get a common caliber but will consider others. 357, 30/30 .25-06

Nothing wrong with a good single shot Billy. They may not be sexy, but they work, I promise when you shoot a 30-30 or 308 single shot, it kills just like a bolt gun. Ill keep my eye out for anything that comes up.

Cant go wrong with a .270 or .30-06. Thats all I've ever used and rarely ever have to track a shot deer. I love squeezing the trigger and watching the instant belly-flop!

I'm looking hard Charles...Just havent found one yet. If Walmart would just bring back layaway, I'd consider the Remmington .30-06 they have for $297. Has a scope but would probably change it out with the better one I have on my 22 marlin.

Most decent pawn shops should have something all over that. Lots of people get rid of them all summer long after losing interest in hunting.

if its the plastic 710's or 770's i would spend a few more bucks and get real wood and metal, remington 710 & 770 have plastic triggers and plastic parts inside and fail alot, do some research on them and read the reviews on them,im not the only one who has had bad luck with them

he is rite on the plastic stuff I have heard bad things about the magazine on that rifle.

Let you have this near mint Remington 30-06 auto loader
with sling, redfield scope, and 3 clips for $four.

that a 7400? I used one of these for years and regardless of what people say about the autoloaders this is to date my most accurate and comfortable rifle. I love the reduced recoil in an autoloader. Never once jammed on me either :)
