Hey fellow form members, Is there any Yamaha Experts that can send me in the right direction. I have a 1999 Yamaha 225 fuel Injected Motor and I am having fuel pump problems. I see Three (looks Like Diaphram type) Pumps and I know there is one electric pump in what looks to be a float chamber like a carb. would have. I was runing yesterday and a solid sound alarm went off and as I understand that is a running hot warning and when that happened it will not event get on plane. Water pressure is fine and looks to be working fine. I let cool off for a minute and just pull the fuel filter out of the filter bowl and it would run and not run hot. It ran pretty good going back to the ramp but you could feel it surge like it was running out of fuel. I pretty sure its one of the fuel pumps. I had just put a new fuel filter on back in the winter. Filter seems to be fine, but with the filter back on it just make enought restriction to run lean then set the alarm off. I think a have a weak pump but dont know which one to start with.
