Yamaha release?

Did anyone make it to the new release today of the new 4 strokes coming out? Just wondering if anyone got any first hand looks at it. They were downtown at the official grand viewing.

I didnt even know they were in town but from what I've heard from a few local yamaha dealers there supposed to be awesome. I also heard they were going to stop building 2 strokes. I have a yamaha now and its the first one I have ever owned and so far I really like it. It doesnt have the torque the Mercs have but its a beast on top end.

I looked at the pics in the article and is it just me or does the spline on the lower unit drive look really small for that big of a motor...or is it just that pic?

They are supposed to be awesome. They are 4.2 liter motors and they weight about what the optimax motors do. Probably the first really serious attempt at a four stroke bass boat motor.

Hummmm, $21000 plus tax, I think I will run down and get a couple of them. If that engine is what they say it is there is trouble on the waters for two strokes.

I thought about getting a four-stroke when I bought my boat ( a Verado) in 2006, but did not because of their weight. This Yamaha sounds like a no brainer to me if I were buying a new bass boat now.
