Any of you guys with Yamaha Outboards have a trusted or favorite place to do work for you? I need a good PM...plugs, lube and all of that.
Also, got some oily residue inside the hub....haven't noticed it before. I will have that checked to I suppose.

Also I tried to shread some rocks with my prop today while putting the boat on the trailer. Oh well, gotta happen sometime. 10 year old prop and never a scratch....until today!

Based on what I read in historical posts, I will try to get a hold of Billy Eaves. Sounds like a good bet.

When are they going to put some water back in the Chick?

Please let me know where you guys go for Yamaha service. I live in Ooltewah and I know I will have to drive at least to Hixson (Chatt Fish n fun) Just want quality work at a fair price with no games and hopefully not too long of a wait.

Thanks in advance.

It would be quite a drive for you, but Madisonville Marine in Madisonville, tn has a good service group.

Since I got such an overwhelming response, I just took it to FnF since I see by their website they sell Yamahas. They should have me out next week. They have a couple of powerheads to do in front of me. I told them I was not needing it for the weekend. I drove my prop up to Billy Eaves shop. Billy is a real nice guy and said he'd have it done by Friday. He even offered to take it over to FnF so I wouldn't have to drive all the way to Sale Creek again. Also he gave me a real good deal!

Having a steering trim lever installed and a regular service....hopefully it won't hurt too bad! At least I will have a nice shiny prop!

Well I ended up very satisfied with Fish-N-Fun. Dropped the boat off there Tuesday, they took my prop off for me and I dropped it off with Billy Eaves right after that. Thursday F-N-F called and said I was ready to go. Couldn't get out there until Saturday morning though. Billy met me at F-N-F Saturday at noon with my shiny reworked prop (even has my initials stamped in it). He and the guys from F-N-F put my prop on for me and I was done. I got the normal service recommended for Yamahas and also had a new wheel trim lever installed. Parts, labor, plus the prop job for right at $500. For boat service and prop work I don't think that is too unreasonable plus it was ready in two days. Haven't run it yet but it sure looks good.

I have been blown away by the expense of marine work in the past so I thought I would have had to dig a little deeper in the pocket.

In a couple of months I may have someone install a HB SI transducer and unit for me to link with my 788 HD DI. I think it will install on my jackplate. Just want someone that knows what they are doing to ensure it is done right.
