Again, just posting because we need more posts here and I've apparently been appointed the tester by Jmax. If you haven't tried this line I'd give it a whirl. I'm anxious to try some of the line that sdfd posted about as well, but I have a ton of this. I have 12lb test but it's really rated at closer to 19lbs. It's a hybrid of flourocarbon and nylon so it has the characteristics of each. Low stretch, fairly good abrasion resistance and excellent castability. It does sink slightly so it might not be a great idea for topwaters. It also has a low diameter so that it looks more like 8-10lb mono.

Sure hope it's not what you busted for your leader material on that C-rig yesterday... ;)

I'm curious to know what that new G-String and Trilene Maxx fish like. I recently tried some McCoy mono and really liked it. It's thin, has low memory, good abrasion resistance, and average stretch. The only thing I hate about mono is the stretch. If someone could come up with something that has all of the above with low stretch, I'd buy a zillion yards of it.

Hey Davo ... since Jmax appointed you "test monkey" try some of that G-String for us. Supposedly Swindle was busting his line a lot on the hookset and wanted something with a higher tensile strength. To read the hype, Spiderwire delivered. Either that or quit hanging out w/ Barry Bonds...

I know that I am overly muscular, I caught you eyeballing my guns son the G.emoLaugh

No, I was using 12lb BPS Excel as the leader when I broke off. Up to 17lb for the leader now, still mono.

Davo, I use alot of c-rigs. I use 12lbexcel for main line, up to 1oz of weight, and BPS flourocarbon. I think the stuff is 14lb. That stuff is mean. I can hardly bite through it, and I have been biting through fly line backing for years. The only down fall is that when you get hung up and have to break you usually loose the whole rig. But I can not remember the last time I broke a fish off on a c-rig. I read the post as well, and hated to hear that your line busted on the hook-set.

I've got one of my Accurist model Baitcasters spooled with Yo Zuri Hybrid. So far no complaints. As Davo mentioned it does sink a bit, more so than mono, but not quite as fast as Flouro. The castability is excellent, low memory. I've been using it mostly for worms and flukes.

Yo Zuri also makes a Hybrid Ultra Soft. It's designed for spinning tackle. I would like to try this out on my spinning reels and I mentioned it to the guys at SW during their Grand Opening weekend. The manager said that they would see about ordering some but I haven't seen it there yet, just the regular hybrid. I may break down and order it from BPS or Cabela's.

I've also been using the P-Line Flouroclear on my crankbait rod. I really haven't had the chance yet to really give it a good work out. Anybody else try that line??

They ran a sale on flouro clear at the BPS Spring sale. I bought a few spools and that stuff was brittle! i dont know if was old or what, but I dont usually switch lines unless I find a deal. BPS excel (8lb green) for the DD22's. A loose drag and stretchy line is a good thing when throwing the deep divers, accompanied by a 7 foot medium stick, i have enough give to play the fish in and I can cast a mile and reel it down pretty deep.

While you're at it Davo, pick up the new CarbonPro and Gamma fluoros and let us know what you think.

I'm forming some type of charity so that you guys can donate money to a special account. I'll buy the stuff with the money and test it for you. How cool is that. Anyone up to donate 50 grand so I can test a Z21?

I have used both the Gamma and Seagar 100% fluro lines. Both are very good lines. The Gamma, however, is prohibitively expensive IMO. Seagar Invizx and Carbon Pro are VERY good products and much more cost effective. The Invizx is a little more supple and, therefore, may be a better choice for spinning reels. Good luck!
