Thought i would post my first fishing report since i had such a great evening. First i must say this wonderful evening i made my best catch of the year. I'm in no way one to brag but in this case i will cause i'm still excited. Check it.

8 pounds 9 ounces...........

oh and heres the 4/2 baby i caught right after the big girl.

Info: I caught this monster on the third cast and she made a couple of very good runs towards some sunken trees. I gave her no slack and basically horsed her back to the boat. I saw the hook was buried very nicely in some hard grisle or bone so i had a good hook set. Caught on a 5/8 ounce local made chatterbait cause personally i think the rad lures version is too cheaply made for me. 7 foot m.h. shimano crucial rod and a quantum accurist reel. 15 pound new spiderwire "g string" which is swindles new string he has done with spiderwire. First time i've used it since i bought it last week and i'm impressed with it and i dont use mono hardly ever anymore. I used berkley braid until i tried the new suffix braid few months ago and i'm happy with teh suffix now. This was in nickajack on the river and thats my fav place to catch big bass. This bass had a flat belly so im certain if she had been feeding like in spring or fall she would have weighed from 2 to 4 pounds more if not so skinny.

I did see a dark blue jeep cherokee sport parked there with a cff sticker and some big nitro stickers if that was anyone of you i hope you had some good luck down there tonight also.

RE: Yooohoooooo!!!!!

Whoa! Nice fish - I had to edit that post to go ahead and pull those pics in for no-click display. Braggin Rights out to ya Andrew for that generous release. Thats what its all about - congrats on a great catch and report! emoThumbsup

I was pitching to the bank basically like pitching a jig to get the chatterbait in between the laydowns and i was bout 15 feet out from the bank. It went out to about 10 or 12 feet then dropped into 30 foot deep water. Bout three foot deep maybe is all it was from bank to deep dropoff and at the bank was few inches. She hit it in less that a foot of water as she took it as soon as i pitched it to the bank and she was right next to a big log. Any other time i would say it was a reaction strike but with her belly being empty i think she would have hit anything that hit the water around her. Her stomach really wasnt that bad but you could tell she hadn't eaten recently..

great job Andrew... good pictures and good release.... bet she pulled your arm off.... madbomber would take credit for the rip rap.....LOLemoGeezer

Wow, great fish AndrewM! Was she on classic summertime structure? Sounds like shallow, near deep, on cover from how you described the spot. Way to go.

WOW, Hogzilla!!! I noticed you didn't mention that there was rip-rap in the area! emoLaugh

BTW, To all CFF members. You don't have to wait to catch a hog to post a report. Anyone who reads my reports should know that. A fish is a fish is a fish.

Sheez Andrew ... that thar girlie is a real beauty!!!!! Nice job .. and thanks for sharing.

Interesting colored combination and lure in the fishies mouth. Looks like some of the jewelry I never wear in my jewelry box. Hmmmm ...

I went back and looked closely at your first picture, which was a great picture by the way. I notice your secret for catching that biggie... if you look closely right by his right elbow you will see what looks like a can of WD-40.... I bet he sprayed the lure with it to catch that monster....LOLemoUpsmile emoUpsmile emoGeezer

I would do one anytime but ive only been a member for bout two weeks maybe. I spent the first week sick and no fishing and last week i had too much business. My trip yesterday was first one in two weeks so i will post reports more often and not when i just catch a big un.

FAt Albert old buddy i dont think you looked that close. emoLaugh

While it may look like a can of wd40 and i do carry a can onboard its actually a can of real magic. And if you looked that closely you would have seen on same side my real secret a tube of mega strike which i had put on the trailer. Remind me to never go sight fishing with you in the spring time..emoLaugh just joking dude.
