You know your getting old when you get a AARP card.

My wife put us up for AARP. Got my card in the mail today. I don't feel old enough to qualify for one of those. Where did the time go? She tells me we can get a lot of discounts on a lot of stuff. I am all for discounts. Anyone got any good AARP discount advise? emoGeezer Jmax

Got an AARP credit card and a number of places automatically give us the discount if they offer one. Always ask. I don't care for their political stand, especially about the mandated health care.

There is a conservative equivalent organization out there. The name of the org. slips my memory at this time. Sorry bout that. Anyone out there who remembers/knows the name?

BTW, I would not join AARP under any circumstance. They are a an ultra liberal political organization masquerading as an organization that helps old folks.

You can see some of the benefits by going to www.aarp.org/benefits. There is a spot to click that opens another window. A list of many of the benefits is then shown. I don't think the list is complete, however. Home Depot may offer an discount and it is not on the list. When my wife and I retired we signed up for the AARP prescription drug insurance that goes along with Medicare and it seems to have been good for us. We did not look at a lot of other plans. We have received discounts at many motels.

Yea, my wife saw discounts at Dollywood and some of the other places up there to stay at. We also like going up there when the Christmas lights are up and you can just about get a discount with that card at every place up there. Not to mention many other places around here. I don't like some of their ideas either but I will use the discount thing. emoAngel Jmax
