Youth turkey hunt with Catfinger

Took the baby-girl yesterday morning to see how the birds are behaving. My lease SUCKS for turkeys right now after the clear cut a couple years ago, so we were confined to the fence-lines and had to hope a bird came to us. Had one goblin at daylight, he came our direction, but I think a hen led him away from us on his way. </p>

We did have a hen glide into the field in front of us and she and I fought back and forth for about 30 mins. That's pretty much the whole story. We walked a bunch listening as best we could after that, but the wind was bad. Will have to try again.</p>

Mine is sure enough ate-up with it. I was ready to call it a day 2 hours before her. emoLaugh She is still in that optimistic mode I used to be in when I started turkey hunting. Now I pretty much know when its over for the day.
