I've drawn the yuchi turkey hunt there later this month. I was wondering if anyone else has hunted it before or if they've drawn the same hunt. I've heard good things about that area but I've never been down there. Is it mostly wooded? Open? I usually pass on drawn wma hunts of any kind , especially on on hunts where animals might answer back at me! lol. My last quota hunt was for a VAAP deer hunt and after being in the woods an hour before daylight and dealling with 3 people coming within 60 yds of me 20 minutes after daybreak I swore it off forever. Maybe I'll give it another chance.

never been drawn on a hunt there.ive taken birds joining there.ive been all over yuchi and its loaded with birds.im not turkey hunting this year.you going by boat or foot, how many drawn for this hunt ? you going to scout for this hunt or go in blind? theres alot of open fields and woods too,,tree lines , wet areas ,creeks and some crops mabe ..where you from? what are rules on scouting?well sorry about all the questions but this used to be like a part of my stomping grounds growing up...before it was a refuge...if theres any way i can help let me know

Its a mix of hardwood ridges and agricultural river bottoms. You can call the GW in charge of that area (# is listed in the hunting guide). From what I have heard he is very helpful, and that place is loaded with turkeys. Good luck and let us know how you do.
