Tenncrapie, it's true that they have a beautiful community and a wonderful work ethic. I've been to Delano many times. I make the trip at least 3 or 4 times a year. Times Free Press reports that this family is not part of the Amish/Mennonite religious community background. I don't think anyone, no matter how cut off from communication and clueless about boat safety, would go out into a raging, fast moving, flooded creek, in a canoe, with two adults, and 4 children. I just don't buy those excuses. The father that died was 36, and came from Virgina about 5 years ago. A 7 and a 6 year old died as a result of "play" on a flooded creek. Thank you for your prospective. I pray that the ones that survived have peace. This is just my opinion and Lord knows I may be looking at this wrong. But in my mind, when you let things like this go, without assigning any blame, you are inviting other people to do the same thing, over and over. I respect a person's religion, but I don't think it should be a shield to hide behind when they do something stupid.
