I want to add one movie that I saw while stationed in Kamaseya, Japan in the 60's. It was a Western comedy called "Texas Across the River" and was one of the funnest movies that I have ever seen. I saw it in the EM club and of course, I had had a couple of beers, so everything was funny I suppose.

Has anyone seen this movie and can I find it anywhere? I really haven't looked for it before. emoBigsmile emoGeezer

Drumking I can order that one, which was made about 1966, on VHS. Let me know if you are interested. I'll make sure you get it at cost!

For those of you that haven't checked it out, there are 3 movies that I can really recommend. "Second Hand Lions" is one of the best. Did very little box office but has one of the most heartbreaking and uplifting stories you'll ever see. The other one is "V for Vendetta". All I'll say about this one is watch it and see if you see where the movie directs your mind! The final one is fairly new, "Sicko" which is about health care, or lack thereof. Regardless of your politics this is a good movie to watch to educate yourself about insurance companies.

In no particular order, please don't forward this to my psychiatrist:

1. One Flew Over The Cucukoos Nest
2. Cool Hand Luke
3. The Rich Man's Wife
4. The Bridge Over The River Kwai
5. The Hunt for Red October
6. Silence of the Lambs
7. Speed
8. Resevoir Dogs
9. Mr. Deeds
10. Mr. and Mrs. Smith
11. The Buddy Holly Story
12. The Magnificent Seven
13. Death Wish
14. Point of No Return
15. The Deer Hunter
16. The Birds
17. Basic Instinct
18. Nine and 1/2 Weeks
19. Sliver
20. Christmas Vacation

I may just have to add Ocean's 13 to my list. I saw it last night for the first time and absolutely loved it.

Shooter was a good flick too. It had one of the all-time greatest lines ... "Welcome to Tennessee, patron state of shootin' stuff."

Rob I had fogotten that one! One of the best movies of last year I thought, even though it did poorly at the box office. I think he is supposed to be in Athens Tennessee when that comment is made!

OK, I am running late on this, but I will add mine.

15. Men of Honor
16. Flags of our Fathers

Yeah - it said they were in Athens, but the scenery was vastly different, so I'm sure it was something they just pulled off of a map and said to themselves, "Athens, TN looks like a good storyline for an eccentric gunsmith." Still a great movie. I went backpacking once with a Green Beret sniper instructor and the stuff in the first ten minutes of that movie was every bit believable after talking to that guy.

Wild Hogs is a great movie. It has a great crew of actors in it, well, except for John Revolting. It has a great story line to it, and it has a great message behind it. The subject was our 20 favorite movies of all time, not the greatest epic motion pictures of all time.

3. Rudy
4. Rocky
5. Titanic
6. Star Wars
7. Road House
8. Rambo

14. Bat Man
15. Anger Management
16. City of Angels

12. Scar Face
13. Godfather 1
14. Yours, Mine & Ours (Henry Fonda & Lucille Ball)

Just can't sit here and come up with "Top 20"... I keep editing. But SHOCKED that no one listed "Apocalypse Now"!!!
Forest Gump, Saving Private Ryan, Shawshank, Deer Hunter, River Runs Through it.... I agree with most of you. Makes me want to go watch some listed again!
Even though I am not a huge fan.... the boys got the Simpson's movie for Christmas. Nothing funnier than a 10 yr old singing THE ENTIRE Spider Pig song while in the shower. Priceless....
And Hitcock still gets my heart pounding. Always stay up to watch Psycho or The Birds when it's on.
