2021 Schedule

We need to figure out a schedule and any rule changes. Could we do a zoom meeting? Or do we want to get together at Chili’s again?

I spoke with Patrick yesterday afternoon. He has been occupied. But here is a starter plan for the 2021 trail. I haven't looked at any other tournament dates so I suspect there will be some conflicts but at lease we will get started on the discussion. If we can agree on the dates and lakes then we can work on the ramps after wards. Patrick has been trying to get the ramp open dates from the park services and has had no response from them as of yet. This could be a mess as I have been told that CFP is going to allow only one tournament per three day WEEKEND. So if that is true tat means that only one tournament will be allowed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday each week. But this will get us started. We may or may not meet if we can do this on line?
I do want to address the subject about the drop tournaments. It has been in discussion by several of our regulars about how to use and take advantage of you drop or drops. It becomes quite obvious that you can miss an event and then use a zero as your drop to protect you points. This puts the few people that fish all events at a disadvantage. If you fish for example 12 events and have 1000 points but you then have a drop that is 85 points, now you have 915. Yet if another angler fishes 11 events and has 920 points but with the missed event his drop is zero he beats you! What do you think about changing a drop so that it must be one or your tournament event scores? You cannot count a missed event for a zero or a 20 point participation score. It must be an actual tournament score. What do you guys think?

Here are the dates that I selected.

Feb. 14th Day Chick

Mar 6th Day RP

Mar 27th Day Chick

April 17th Day Nick

May 15th Day Chick

May 29th Day Nick

June 12th Night Chick

July 10th Night RP

July 31st Night Chick

Aug 14th Night Chick

Aug 28th Night Chick

Sept 18th Day Chick

Oct 16th & 17th Classic

I have looked atof the Big tournys in the area and came up with a schedule also

2/20 -Chick
3/6 - Nick lower (shellmound)
3/27 - Chick
4/10 Nick riverpark
5/1 Chick
5/22 Chick
6/11 Chick night
7/2 River park night
7/23 Chick night
8/6 River park night
8/27 chick night
9/18 Chick day
10/2 nick day
10/30 and 31 classic

this address the concerns over "too many night tournys" gives us a day tourny on chick and nick in the fall befor the classic . (gives us a chance to fish more of Tim's tournys)

I also propose the following

day tournys daylight till 1600
Night 0300 am

no more drops ..if you want to compete for AOY you must fish all tournys

live well checks before tournys

allow locking through

blast off single file boats must idle by the "blast off boat" with live wells open and life jackets on.

move all chick tournys to the DAM (we don't have to worry about scheduling at that point).

Kens dates look good. I don’t like allowing to lock thru. If it’s on chick fish chick. I would be open to have a couple of trailer tournaments on the honor system sign up at 6 somewhere make it a drive by sign in. start fishing at say 7 stop at 3 and drive to the park to weight in at 4.with the COVID crap going on this may be a good alternative to ramps. I’m ok with the no drops if you want to be in the points. I say we fish till 3 on day tx and 2 on the night tournament. Everyone complained about to many night tx we could drop one more nights and have only 4 just a thought that was the biggest complaint we had.

we could change the 8/26 to 8/27 and make it a day TX

I am ok with no locking through ..it was just a thought

I am not a big fan of trailer TX (as much as this group like to complain about stuff why add fuel to the fire)

we could split the Day TX on Chick between Holly Circle and the DAM if we wanted to .. I just know its gong to be more of a hassle trying to schedule at CFP

1) No locking thru.
2) No drops
3) Must fish all tournaments to win AOY
4) Idle past the blast off boat wells open. We need bobbers or something so that when a boat goes by they throw it to the blast off, ones person verifies the number and off they go.
We had a big problem with people leaving before their number last year. (need something to indicate the blast off boat like a flag or something)
5) Blast off boat also checks boats back in at the no wake zone at the designated time.
6) Smallest fish in the bag goes on the board. All small mouth and spots are measured (unless its obviously a keeper) If an angler's fish measures short on whatever board we have
at the weigh in but they say it measures on their board they go get their board and if said board is straight and flat and the fish measures on their's then its a good fish. (since
we don't have a specific board listed in our rules.
7) We should really consider using the wolftever ramp on chic. (I know we'd need the permit) It sets up perfectly for a blast off, has a huge-well lit parking lot that is easy to
maneuver trucks and trailers in, we have multiple locations to set up the weight-in, and other than anglers there is no one else there in morning and no other tourney trails use
it.
Schedule. (ive heard quite a few complaints over the last two years about the tx's being to close together and the number of nite tx's our numbers also go down when we go down
on nick)

1/30 Day Chic (dam or holly cir)
2/20 Day Riverpark
3/27 Day Chic (wolftever or harrison bay)
4/17 Day Riverpark
5/15 Day Chic (dam or holly cir)
6/25 Nite Chic (wolftever or harrison bay)
7/23 Nite Riverpark
8/20 Nite Chic (dam or holly cir)
9/18 Day Riverpark
10/16 Day Chic (wolftever or harrison bay)
11/6-7 Classic

We could also consider doing some sunday dog fights to increase our payouts for Aoy and our classic. We do a Sunday dog fight from say safe light to 1pm 90% pay out. Out of that 10% we retain half goes to the Aoy pot and the other half into the classic pot
