3.1 lbs. crappie on Chick. 1/29/2007

One of the fellows that I deliver stuff to was at the shop today, and he asked if I wanted to see a pic of a crappie. So, Gilbert proceeds to show me this crappie he caught a couple of weeks ago on Chickamauga................. 3.1 lbs. That right there, folks, is a big ole crappie.

Awesome crappie! What did he catch it on? How deep? This looks like a HOF entry if there is a report to go with it! emoThumbsup

I wasen't with him when he caught it. The only thing i heard is that he caught them at just about any depth from 5ft to 20ft. He was using a small jig head with a gub. I didn't get any specific weight or color.

Crappie taste the same no matter what size they are. They all be good.

Thats a wall fish. Reminds me of something. Some of yall know my brother catch1maybe ( hes a nut ). He was fishing below Woods Dam one day, caught a 5+ Smallmouth. A fella fishing near him told him "that there is a moutain fish". He later asked me if mountain Smallmouth get bigger than lowland Smallmouth....... The guy said mounting, he heard mountain, Kenny had been working up north for a couple years. LOL
