wanting to buy a .45 that is small and comfortable for carrying. been looking at kimber ultra carry 2, but been reading some reviews and people say that a 1911 sub 4" is not dependable. always heard good things about kimber and never heard this before but thought i would see what u guys had to say.

if not kimber, in your opinion what is best concealed carry .45 out there.

I never heard that about the Ultra Carry 2 either. Have wanted to buy one for quite some time now. I would like to know more about this though.

Glocks are fine. Me..I trust my life with my Kimber. Fits well in jacket pocket, etc.

I carry an Ultra Carry II and like it. It is a good shooting pistol and I prefer to have the power of the .45, plus I love the 1911's. I have read a lot on them as well, and I think that the majority of problems are user error rather than failure on the gun's part. Check out http://forums.1911forum.com/ which has a good section on Kimbers. Good luck on your decision.

Can't go wrong with a Kimber or a Colt Commander. Springfield is making the xd in a compact and glock has one to. It just comes down to personal preferance.

Glock 30 SF

I have been looking at this same thing lately. What do you think about the 36?

The G36 is a good gun most of the time. Not all 36's are good though. The 36 is the only Glock that has ever had problems. I had one and did not like it. Only Glock I ever saw that had feed and extraction issues. Mine was built when they first came out. Since Glock is still making the 36 I assume they have ironed out the bugs from the first few. One thing is for sure. The Glock 36 is the best feeling of all the Glocks in your hand. If you get one get a new one and not one that someone is selling on the internet. I would not say this about any other Glock.

Hmm. pretty sure I can pick one up for 4 bills. Kimber is way out of my price range.

4 bens is a smokin deal. Kimbers are great. I had the top of the line Ultra Carry II. This was the most accurate defense handgun I have ever owned or shot. Bad thing about it was it would jam on occaision. Not real bad but about every 4 or 5 mags it would either FTF or FTE. It did not like light hollowpoint ammo. Factory mag was junk. It had issues nearly every time I used it. Wilson or Chip McCormick were real good mags. I traded it for two Glocks because I just could not get past the jamming problems. Mind you they were not that bad but for a Glock guy that never has problems like that I just could not get the confidence to carry it. Awesome range gun though. Certainly my Kimber was not worth the $1300 price I paid for it.

What do yall think about the S&W M&P45?

First class weapon. Awesome ergonomics but a little too pricey when bought new. They are quite a bit more expensive than the Glock from which they are copied. Used they only bring about the same price as a used Glock. If I were to ever go to another defense weapon it would probably be the M & P.

i carry a glock 23. like it alot but was just wanting a 1911 model that was small enough to carry and conceal pretty easy. for some reason just like the look of 1911's.

guess will look around some more and just keep on carrying the glock for now.

any suggestions on where to look would help also.

1911's are too heavy for me to carry. I had 2 different Kimbers didn't keep either one of them. I carry a glock 27, but for a .45 I wouldn't have anything but a full size H & K. just my .02.

I really like the Glock 23. Yes its not a .45 but its a great gun. The Glock 36 is a nice subcompact .45. 1911's just don't feel that great to me. I'd rather have a wheel gun than a 1911.
