Nope, only artificial baits are allowed. The trash fish has to be caught with artificial, however nothing says you can't use small jigs and catch a crappie. Or money minnows and catch a cat. Or power worms and catch a cat. Drum fall into the trash fish pot so use a bait like a jig where you catch drum. Or...well...accidently snack you a carp. emoThumbsup Depending on how many enter the trash fish pot it will very well exceed the big fish pot. emoTongue

We are going to call any fish other then a largemouth, spot or a small mouth a trash fish so think about that. Gar anyone?

I would bet that after last years big trash fish pot there will be some just fishin for trash fish. Would the trash fish have to be alive? Never tried to keep a drum alive in the live well. Oh and just kidding bout the liver. Haha

I would have to say no on the trash fish having to be alive. Try to keep it alive but your right and a big cat might not even fit. Jmax
