Just to clarify....for those who may see HD on some advertisements.

HD was first going to be a marketing term for Industry Leading or Equal Pixel Count Designation. Humminbird & Lowrance both had same Pixels so they were promote versus HDS they were HD.

They removed the designation from the 800, 900 & 1100 Series because some models had different screen sizes.

The HD Designation was kept on the 700 Series HD Models to designate Industry Leading 640 by 640 Pixel Count Screen in a 5" Unit and the biggest reason to designate they are Ethernet Compatible.

The HD Designation on the NEW 2013 800/900 Series are are going to designate Higher Pixel Count Per Inch than Lowrance and the new LED Backlight.

1100 Series has never officially been branded with HD. BUt it does have Equal Pixel Count and features the HDSI (Gen 2 SI Technology).

You may see other dealers that are specifying in their title 2013 model Humminbird 1198c HD SI combo. Let me be clear. There are no changes to the Humminbird 1198c SI combo from 2012 to 2013. They are the same unit/model. Yes it is HD but it does not state HD on the unit and or title. Humminbird has always had "HD" components in their product.

Humminbird has made the move to put the "HD" on there 500, 700, 800 and 900 series only. They are adding a brighter LED backlight and the "HD" stamp. This does not make them "HD" You can review the models on the Humminbird site in the link provided below to understand and see that they are not listing the 1198 with the "HD" as there are no changes to the 1198c SI combo.</p>

So if you think you are buying an 1198c "HD" SI combo you are as again Humminbird has always been "HD" quality. You just won't see HD stamped on the title anywhere. Humminbird at the end of 2011 going into 2012 we're going to add the "HD" but decided to drop it at the last minute. Some advertisements were released with the "HD" in the title but they never added it.

Just want to clear up the questions I have been getting due to other dealers not understanding.
