OK guy's once again you may see where there is a post stating the 1198c SI combo is in closeout price.
Let me be Clear. The 1198 going into 2013 will be the same model it was in 2012. It is not a closeout item. There will be no changes coming to the 1198c SI combo for 2013.
HD was first going to be a marketing term for Industry Leading or Equal Pixel Count Designation. Humminbird & Lowrance both had same Pixels so they were promote versus HDS they were HD.
They removed the designation from the 800, 900 & 1100 Series because some models had different screen sizes.
The HD Designation was kept on the 700 Series HD Models to designate Industry Leading 640 by 640 Pixel Count Screen in a 5" Unit and the biggest reason to designate they are Ethernet Compatible.
The HD Designation on the NEW 2013 800/900 Series are are going to designate Higher Pixel Count Per Inch than Lowrance and the new LED Backlight.
1100 Series has never officially been branded with HD. BUt it does have Equal Pixel Count and features the HDSI (Gen 2 SI Technology).
So please understand that you are not buying a closeout Humminbird 1198c SI combo.
You can go to
www.Humminbird.com to reveiw the products. You will see the HD on the series I mention but you will not see the HD on the 1198c SI combo. You will see other dealers that have an add that lists the 1198 as a c HD SI and the unit is HD as I have discribed but you will not see HD stamped on the unit itself because it is the same unit as the 2012 model...
