My brother got a letter from Cover Tennessee stating that as of 1 January 2014, it would no longer be and he would no longer have coverage from it. This affects everyone with CovTenn, not just him! He was instructed to begin shopping for alternate coverage on the Tennessee Insurance Marketplace, but not until 31 October 2013. Also, a friend of ours from Kingsport who retired from Eastman told us that as of 1 Jan. 2014, their HI deductible would be raised to $6500/year! So, essentially, they will have to camp out in the Dr.'s office to meet it.

Nancy P. said we'd " have to pass it to see what's in it." How do we like it so far?? emoBang emoBang

The whole thing was a joke from the beginning. Someone would/will have to pay for the program. The coverage will be high, deductibles high, anyone with it will have very little coverage, if you ever need surgery I feel for you because they will never cover it, I could go on and on but it is just blowing air at this stage of the game. Sounded good but the bottom line is this did nothing to reduce the cost of the medical expense, will make tons of money for the insurance providers, many doctors will not except it and it just brought in a lot more middle men including our own government who will now get a piece of the payment. emoBang Jmax

Can you say "wealth redistribution plan?" The bomma is on record as saying, "redistributing the wealth is not difficult. The difficulty is getting the money from those rich, stingy bastards".

Socialism comes in many differnt flavors and styles; however, they all have one thing in common: Same standard of living for all citizens except the elite, office holding politicians.

At this late date, I suspect our best hope is that the damn program crashes and burns under its own weight.
