American Chestnut tree?

There are 2 large ones on Benton Pike just east of the golf course. Biggest ones and honestly only ones I know of.

Heath , Those are BUCKEYE trees, not CHESTNUT there on right side going east, got some in my tackle bag....... emoGeezer emoUSA
 
When I was a kid, I had to go to the area across from the nuke plant just south side of Warebranch slew and pick up chestnuts. Use to be a small field that came down to the water covered with these trees.
 
Wow Slim!! I thought I was the only person on the forum that knew about that place!! You are right on the money. Huge grove of chestnuts, with massive trees. Before they built all the houses you could get to it from the bank or from off Warebranch road. I am amazed that someone else recalls that.
