I`m orange thru and thru....but got started watching them last nite and couldn`t quit. Both of those scrawny GBs can throw the ball and run too. Heck of a game. Miami may have gotten a gift in the long pass to set up their last TD but It was too close to call.

Heck of a game !

It was a great game... Miami may be on their way back up. I thought their QB would be more of a runner but he threw for almost 400yds!

Definitely a good game. Mark my words, Greg Reid for FSU will be a serious player for the next few years. He came in as a Freshman last night and was near untouchable

Ya, it was a very exciting game... But for all this talk of Mickey's "fastest defense he's ever coached," I sure didnt see much defense... from either team. Either way, fun game to watch.

I hate it for State's QB to get the team all the way down to the two yard line and throw a pass at the feet of a wide open receiver. Its not like the defender was right on his hip pocket. I feel sorry for him after their last efforts. Good game though.

the ACC is not much. They have turned into confernece USA. Where has defense gone in football. Oh yea, in the SEC!

I watched it. I was an awesome game, except for the dropped ball at the end. I think both teams show some promise this year. Mickey has an incredibly fast defense, just as the commentators said, they need to learn to slow down sometimes. There were many plays that the D Backs just blew right by the RB and missed what should have been an easy tackle.

What is great about having a real game as the opener (as opposed to playing Sudo high school teams where the score gets run out of the park Ahemmm UT?) is that the players and coaches get a realistic view of where they need to improve. Then they can start dialing things in.

I'm just glad it did not come down to our poor kicker again this year

GO NOLES!!!!!!!!!!

jta,

Spare me the pot shot about Western Kentucky. We've opened with Cal, Cal, and UCLA the last 3 years. UCLA is coming to Knoxville this week, and we go to Florida next week. Don't act like the Vols always schedule cupcakes.

Actually, it did. FSU missed an extra point. The Miami lead would have been only 3 points had the kicker not missed the PAT and instead of having to score a TD at the end of the game, they could have easily kicked a FG and took it to overtime.

Touche!! emoWorthy emoWorthy Your right, every point is important, especially the "easy" PAT's he almost missed another one too.

WHat I should have said was that he didn't have to kick the ball as the last ditch play at the end of the game. If we run into that situation much more, it's going to get hard to recruit kickers emoPoke

Don't forget FSU went for 2 to make up for the missed PAT and converted.

I too enjoyed the game but am a little biased as I'm from S. Fla. and a Miami fan. This is a huge rivalry and a big win for a rebounding Miami. Would like to see some defense though. My .02 cents.

Gotta like those that go right down to the last play. Bet the Noles and Canes fans were nailbiting the whole 4th quarter.

I was on the 10th row. Greg Reid is a hoss. I didn't like FSU's playcalling down inside the 5 at the end. Instead of the option run, I would have liked to see another QB draw.

What was amazing was sitting in the stadium with 81,000 fans in dead silence waiting for the replay official to make the final call.

Oh and by the way, I thought there was one more second on the clock after the ball hit the ground on the final pass. (missed PAT made no difference, we got it back with the 2 point conversion)

Noles go to Provo in two weeks should be another interesting one.

Go Noles!
