Has anyone tried the Moto lures? One of my daughters sent me some to try. There seems to be three different kinds, right now, The 'motoFrog', the ,'motoChug', and the 'motoMinnow'. I don't know how the frog works, as my daughter only sent the minnow and the chug. Both the minnow and the chug have a braided line with a swivel coming from the front "mouth" and when this line is jerked as when you pop the chug, or minnow, the braided line is extracted from the lure about six inches, and kind of winds up the motor in side the lure. As the braided line is drawn back inside, the motor causes the lures's tail to move back and forth similar to an injured bait fish. The speed of this movement can be quite fast or can be slowed by adjusting the tail. The motominnow has a, "con caved", looking object (similar looking as the old commode plunger), mounted to its mouth, to create resistance to the water, when the line is pulled.
I can't wait to try the, 'minnow', when I go to the, "Bar" and look for birds feeding on shad,(and hopefully stripers), like DHaun described in his post....emoCool

BOUGHT MY BROTHER SOME FOR CHRISTMAS FEW YEARS BACK.(EBAY OR SOMETHING) NOT SURE IF EVER CAUGHT ANYTHING ON THEM OR NOT. IF THESE ARE SAME THEY IMITATE A DIEING FISH.? CAN'T REMEMBER THE NAME BUT I THINK THEY WERE CHUCK WILLERY OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT, I THINK IT WAS TWO KINDS. ONE WHEN YOU PULLED LINE IT WOULD CATCH IN FRONT OF LURER PULLING STRING OUT OF MOUTH AND FISH WOULD START VIBRATING. CAN'T REALLY REMEMBER WHAT OTHER ONE WAS.

GOOD LUCK WITH EMemoAngler

My mother bought some lures that ole Chuck Woolery marketed a few years ago for Christmas. They were just interesting enough to keep. Thought I'd use them during Summer nights over grass. I've managed to catch two good size Gar on it and that's about it.

When did you start fishing for Gar

?

I tell ya Steve.....both of those fish hit right at the boat and scared a year off of my life. I was fishing the cattails in the back of Harrison Bay where I caught both of them on back-to back weekends. And no, a gar was not my target.emoDoh

Pointer, I'll bet you were thinking about those wildeyed and  wooly, "waumpus cats" that might have been lurking in the cat tails waiting to pounce on some unsuspecting bass fisherman.

I don't know how well these MOTO-lures work but I did notice that Sportsmans warehouse had the frog and the minnow or whatever on the shelf. I didn't purchase but thet look like they might be affective. I just wonder how long the piece of line coming out of the head will last.
