I think there is a slight difference in chunking 1/2 oz baits and catching 1 or 2 pound fish with an occaisional 5 or 6 pounder thrown in and what LL is using his big reels for. If I had to guess a cheap real would not last too long in salt water hung into a hard charging 200 pound shark. I could be wrong.

That is it Cheez. Right off the batt Saltwater cost more due to the materials used to prevent corrosion. Because of the screaming runs you get fron saltwater fish, you must have equipment that can take the force without getting their guts jerked out. The big reels like my Penn Internationals must be able to hold several hundred yards of big line and have the power to crank it back in with a 450 lb fighting Bull on the end of it.

Ain't nothing in TN river can pull like that.
