What was the deal about someone bringing 6 fish into the dock and had to throw a 9lber back? Details?
In case one of your other five die. emoScratchjw_outdoors - 3/8/2009 12:59 PM
I don't really understand how you can wind up with six? I guess you could have got excited by the nine pounder, but if you had 27lbs., why would you keep six? Sounds like a legitimate mess up to me. Sucks fot those guys though!
Thanks for posting that. Your a class act for doing so. emoApplausetripletdad - 3/8/2009 4:46 PM
Here are the FACTS!
Yes, we came in with six fish. We had five in the boat and caught a 4lber put a spare x-tool culling float on that fish and threw it in the livewell. Wrote it's weight down and erased the smaller (2lb 13oz) fish. We just flat out forgot about releasing the smaller fish somehow. Everytime my brother would open the livewell to check on the fish I told him to close the lid in case one decided to jump out. We never even doubted what we had until we got to the weigh in. We got protested about it and we amitted it. It was our mistake and unfortunately cost us the tourney. The rules stated that you can not have more than five fish in the livewell and that if 6 were in the livewell the biggest (8.87) would be culled to get back to legal limit of 5 and those would be weighed. We had already released all the fish (well except the biggest because it went belly up when we tried to release it and we try to bring it back but didn't make it) so we ended up in 5th with 18.?? with 4 fish. It was an honest mistake that we made in the excitement of the moment of that last fish. It's not everyday that you put together a stringer like that on a day where it counts the most and not be exciteded about it. Just wasn't meant to be I guess. Congrats to Greg and Eddie they also had a good bag of fish. Maybe next weekend.
