bad storm with high winds - first I've ever seen in NY

Still not sure if it was a tornado or high wind. So far the damage is assessed at over 7k not including the car with the back glass pulverized and dents in the hood made by a tree in the front of the house.</p>

It took me three hours to get home from less than 20 miles away due to fallen power lines and trees blocking the roads.</p>

Wow, it looks like with the angle at which those trees fell helped to avoid a more direct hit on your house, and that with a little different direction the house could have taken some more damage.

You're right. But the biggest blessing was not parking my new boat in the spot I always park my boat that the tree collapsed on. We picked the boat up last night and got it covered under our home insurance policy - something that wouldn't have happened the day of the storm. </p>

Now it's just a matter of finding an insurance company other than State Farm and will probably be going with Progressive for the boat.</p>
