I've noticed very few reports of bass being caught on the Chick.

Are you folks catching anything, or can I feel better that it might NOT be just ME?

We tried from 3:30 to 7:30 yesterday, and caught ONE 12" buck LM. We worked 1 ft to 10 ft, 10-15 ft, and as deep as 30. We tried top-water, suspending jerks, cranks, traps, t-rigs, and c-rigs. The buck was caught in 25 ft near (not ON) the edge of a secondary channel. I did miss a couple later on on a t-rig 'cause I was so dang excited to get a tap-tap that I jerked it out of their mouth.

WHERE DID THE SPRING BITE GO??? I guess we were using the wrong color (ALL of them?).

Hep me hep me, lawwwwwd hep me! Here emoFish emoFish ...emoMad emoConfused emoBang

But you can bet I'll try again tomorrow!emoThumbsup emoDance

May have alot to do with this "high pressure" system sitting ontop of us right now. The weather has been pretty weird so far this year.

Yeah, FV, that's why we tried working some breaks a bit deeper, but I guess the high had them lock-lipped!emoAngry

I went sight fishing yesterday and did pretty well at finding them on the beds. Also I caught several on a pop-r in shallow water with lots of stumps . Hope this is useful.emoFish

Tried that too...must not have been in the right places...what time were you out?

When with a co-worker Saturday. He caught a 3# but we only boated 4 bass. Last Monday I got a 4# not 25 yards away from the one Saturday. Other than that the bite has been slow for me.

I was out for a few hours yesterday and didn't have much luck. I mainly fished tubes and cranks around cover. I don't know, I had pretty good luck over the weekend, but I think the water movin' up so quickly messes with them. They ain't used to the water movin' backwards. Anyhow, I did wind up catchin' a purty good 2.5lber on a spinnerbait. It was a blast. Gonna try to get out for a few hours today and do some wranglin'.

Sight fishing is not favored even by most professional level as well as the local anglers it requires a lot of patience and even more time to develop the technics that will cause the fish or make her mad enough to bite. I believe if I can find them I can persuade her into the bite. I was fortunate enough to make a bout seven trips to lake Murray in S.C.over seven years and get to fish with a half a dozen guys who do this all the time ,one who used to be a guide and is also friends with and learned from Yancy Windham who is a professional on the flw circuit and is probably the undisputed king at sight fishing.emoFish
