Imagine that, for years and years people wondered why BPS wouldn't come closer to Chattanooga. All it took was Cabela's coming first. emoLaugh

Where exactly is it going?

If you go to the exit there at Ringgold Road and look over by the Visitors Station they have cleared a huge track of land down to the dirt. I would bet that is the new location. It will be a good spot. emoThumbsup Jmax

I hope they rework the east ridge exit on the north bound 75 side because that is the worst exit on ramp design ever. More traffic on it will result in more accidents because the idiots getting off usually try to get in front of the cars getting on.

I just don't see that big of a market for them to open one after a cabelas is being completed. I don't shop at either but think it's a stupid time to build something like that.

Personally I think all of this is great with all the new stores coming to the area. Means more jobs and more money for our city. I lived in east ridge for 21 years and this is exactly what it needed. From all of our fast food places getting redone, new gas station have a great park like camp jordan and access to to so many other places within minutes. Plus it's going to be right off the interstate. If we use it or not I don't think that' will be a problem for them. The visitors/anglers and families coming through "the gate way city " will enjoy it I am sure.

Well said. This will mean a job for someone.

Johnny Morris and Bass Pro didn't get as big as they are, making stupid decisions. I am sure they checked the market before the decided to build here.

I'm sure they did too but we'll see. We have a contract with them and Cabelas so I deal with buyers with both companies quite a bit. You really think there is a market in Chattanooga for Sportsman WH, 2 Academy sports, Cabelas and a Bass Pro...oh wait and Gander Mountain and Dicks Sporting goods (which I'm shocked hasn't closed the doors, that place is horrible). I didn't realize there were so many BPS supporters. I like to spend my money at Tackle warehouse and Hamilton's if possible.

I don't buy much fishing gear at any of those places but I do by some clothes, camping gear and hunting items. Competition is a good thing for the consumer so I am all for as many of these stores as they want to build. I personally like Cabelas more than BPS for the items I shop for.
