What fun it was. I will let her tell the story below, but here are a few pics to show before she tells the story.

Super 1st deer especially on your first ever trip to the woods to see what it was all about and wow did you not ever have success. Congrats again. I was honored to be there for your first whitetail not to mention super Nice 10ptr.....

I want to thank Tndoe for taking me on my first hunting trip and making my trip something I will never experience again,” My First Deer. I must say she is an excellent guide. And boy do she know a lot about dear hunting. It was awesome, how many people ever get a 10 pointer, but on your first trip amazing.

We got to her “Honey Hut” around 6:00 ct it was still pretty dark. After about an hour things began to stir, we saw a few squirrels, bird began to chirp. We could hear a shot in the far distance...somebody got one. About 45 minute later Tndoe says deer. I look up the hill at a path near a cedar thicket and he is staring right at us. We freeze, and he stares us down for what seemed like forever. I was slowly trying to get the gun up when he decides to trot off. I don’t think we got busted he never flagged us. We think it was a button buck he was by himself and we would have let him walk anyway.

Another 30 minutes go by and Tndoe whispers get ready…false alarm Turkeys….3 of them come creeping out from the cedar thicket. Thirty minutes later I spot a buck on the other side heading for the food plot. It’s a spike, since it was my first trip we thought about trying to take him, but decided to let him walk. He was pretty skittish and I’m not sure would could have got a shot on him anyway. He gave us a long look and then flagged us on his exit.

Probably about an hour goes by and nothing. We could hear gunshots in the distance, but we were not seeing any movement of any kind. Then Tndoe whispers “shoot that buck”, “shoot that buck"….I look up the hill and there he is. I never really look to see his rack I just wanted make sure I concentrated on the shot (Tndoe had coached me the night before to block out everything except the target area). I quickly get the gun up and he is slowly walking( all I hear is Tndoe whispering “shoot that buck”, “shoot that buck”) I get him in the crosshairs and he is starting to walk a little faster. There is only about 15-20 yards before he enters the other thicket. HERE IS BEST PART…..I got him in the crosshairs but his still walking and then…. Tndoe gives a short…. “Maaaa”…. and he… STOPS….. he looks right at us… Shoulder in crosshairs and BOOM

he drops in his tracks.

I watch to see if he would get up and run…... 20 seconds go by and no movement…..then I notice a pain in my forehead. I look at Tndoe and said “I think I got to close to the scope”. I will let her finish that story, if she has quit laughing by now.

Looking back it is amazing how fast all this happened. Probably a good thing I didn’t have time to get nervous.

Thanks again Tndoe for a once in a life time memory.

Great story and how true it is. While I was paying more attention to her deer watching as it hit the ground instantly and she said she thinks she got to close to the scope, I turned to look at her and boy was she leaving a blood trail. Dripping off the end of her nose. We quickly found some tissues bb had with her and luckily she quit bleeding pretty quick and no stitches required (I think). We waited a few minutes then went to see her buck. I told her later that she actually bled more than the deer did on this occasion. After hunting over there for the past 8 to 10 years you have indeed brought home a trophy in my book. Thank you for going and the fun and fellowship we had. Now, here's the pic I left out earlier until you informed us just what a scope can/will do when getting to close.
Again, Conagrats on a great deer and deer hunt.

Glad you are alright and yes that is a TROPHY deer anywhere ya want to go! Great story and pics. Thanks for sharing with us!

Boy, I am sure glad to see you two doing so well at deer this year.emoApplause I am jealous, me and Churly have been going for some time this year and the best I have seen is a small racked younger buck chasing a doe and I messed that up. emoBadLanguage Other then that I have seen a couple non shooter bucks. To go one time and get one like that is unreal.emoEek Have to say though you will remember that one every time you look in the mirror and see that battle scar.emoBigsmile Ooooch! Jmax

emoApplause I bet if you'd done that scope thing shooting targets you would been hurting bad! It is amazing what a powerful "pain suppressor" adrenalin can be. emoTeacher emoBigsmile

When they miss, or when they nail a stud 1st time out!

I thought you were supposed to smear "war paint" on your face as well!

ROFLMAO ... STILL!!! What a great story! Nice job BB and TNDoe!!! Sorry about the boo boo .. but rather be on that end of the gun any day as compared to the other!
