So the old 2 pigs/Fat Mikes is back with new owners, and is called JC's Family, anyone been?

There is also the new place at Hwy 58 & 60, Dave's Spiced Right.

In addition to these, I finally tried Kevin Browns a few weeks ago, but not for a burger, for ribs and brisket. I have to say I was surprised, I had fully anticipated it to be sub-par but it was pretty dang good.

Anyone have an opinion about theseplaces?

I haven't been to JC's, but when it was 2 pigs, the portions were just too small. The quality and taste of the meat and sauce was excellent. I'm not a huge guy, but I left there hungry.

Spur, Dave's is pretty good at first. It has kinda of went downhill just a little bit. My bbq has been good but my wife had gotten some that tasted like is was a dried out roast and the slaw and bbq beans were weird tasting one time. She won't go back but I periodically pick it up for myself. Probably my favorite right now because of their nachsa is noogaq over on signal mtn road. Also we really like 58 bbq over by ace hardware.

I wasn't overly impressed with Dave's. It had no bark or smoke flavor, but was moist, which is usually the biggest issue around here.
Its pretty wild how many BBQ joints are in the HWY 58 area now.

Daves, Kevin Browns, JC's, Sweenys, 58 BBQ.

We love Hwy 58 & 60, Dave's Spiced Right! Very smokey, moist, so tasty you don't need sauce, but their sauce is good too. We've gotten it six times since discovering it in January and love it. We just got some last week. Sorry to hear some of you guys didn't like it. Couch's and Dave's are our faves.

Spur take advantage of Dave's Wednesday special:
Large BBQ Pork Sandwich, chips, a pickle, and a 20 oz drink for only $5.00. Man, talking about it makes my mouth water.

I really like Hillbilly Willy's in Tiftonia, they had one in Oootywaaah, not sure if that one is still open.
They are closed Sun & Monday. No alcohol.

A new family has set up a BBQ Rest called Forked Lightening on Harrison Pike in front of Prospect school. Good BBQ and prices.

MooreEagle - 4/29/2013 9:17 PM I miss Hillbilly Willy too. JC's is pretty decent, when I was in there we were the only customers

When was that, I saw the owner of JC's posted on another forum they are sooooo busy they can't keep up. Lol I haven't seen that myself.

JC is pretty good... Ribs are a little too heavy on sauce for me but i like dry rubbed the most so to each his own. I have talked to a few that love their ribs. Pork is really good there.

They are very busy at times and some times you see that there is only one or two cars in the lot. 2 Pigs was the same way too though....

The killer potatoe at Dockside is awesome. There BBQ is pretty good, I wouldn't call it great.
