Berkly. Vanish- Transition

David you and DK have me sold on the hi-vis lines. Not many people catch more bass than you and there are definitely not many folks that catch more crappie than Drumking. If the bright line doesn't bother the fish for ya'll then it won't bother the fish for anyone else. What it boils down to is like DK said, presentation. I will add one more item to the equation and that is confidence. You must have confidence no matter what.

guys, alot of you dont understand flourocarbons. transition is a great line in applications and is very user friendly on spinning. the new trilene 100% flourocarbon is the bomb. nothing beats it.hands down... someone mentioned p-line, yeah ok if you want whale rope. their diameters are far thicker than any body elses and that is how they claim stronger than other lines. also it is very inconsistant in diameter, for example, 10 lb, may go frm .009 to .015 then back again up and down, berkley more consistant. if you want the ultimate in small line and visi look at fireline in flame green or flouro pink, its available in 2lb/ 1/2 lb diameter.o% stretch and awesome sensitivity and use the palomar knot :)

All you guys claiming line size doesn't affect bites must have a lot better presentation than I do! For me flourocarbon has gotten me more bites and I can say that with confidence. I only use it for slow presentations like jigs and soft plastics. I am not a good line watcher so the added sensitivity definetly helps me. I haven't noticed it breaking easier than mono unless it was vanish or transition. It is harder to handle than mono or braid. If it wasn't I would throw it on everything. I have thrown every flouro made except Gamma and triple fish and I think the Invisx is top shelf product. What's funny is that there are only two or three companies in the world that actually make fishing line with Shakespere being one of them. Just my $0.02.

It's not that we don't understand flouro, there's just a majority that have had nothing but bad experiences with Vanish. I'll readily admit that I'm not a flouro fan for the reasons listed above, but Vanish is so shoddy that Berkley should've never released it. Sewing thread is stronger than that junk ...

I go down in line class in the winter for more action from my baits. In the winter a fish has a smaller strike zone. So more action may be needed for a reaction. Take a small crank bait & tie it on 6-8 Lb test & pull it through the water where you can see it. Now do the same with 15-20Lb. test & see the diff. With warmer water temps. the fish are tempeted with less action, so you can catch the same fish with larger line. But I will say I do wish I was better at line watching.</p>

But my eyes keep going crossed!
