Best life jacket for a tournament bass fisherman?

I have the Mustang type that I use when I canoe. I just figured that I may want something that we are a few pockets in it to stash some of the items that I will be using frequently. Also, I like the vests of SKOTTeVest https://bestoutdooritems.com/best-travel-vests/ Very light and comfortable material, plus it is very good resist moisture

I have one of these in blue that i've had for 2-3 years, it's comfortable to wear and it hold me up well in the water. I've jumped off the boat a few times to test it during the summer heat.

Well I have to tell my story with inflatables first one was a cheaper brand which expanded in the compartment of the boat when it rained them I went with the mustang, nice life jacket but while fishing Guntersville one day the yellow pull cord hung somehow in the corner of the steering wheel causing it to inflate while driving, that'll give you a quick scare, I looked like Daffy duck for a minute as it choked the crap out of me before I could get it unhooked and off. I would go with a regular bullet type jacket, I think it's similar to the old 100 mph life jackets they use to market and may still have. That was my favorite by far but was stolen along with my boat back in the early 90's

If you going to run a boat at high speeds, I recommend using a life jacket that is already floating before it hits the water (not an inflatable). Ive heard to many stories of them malfunctioning and not deploying in the water. Also. I was looking at some in some big box store last year and all of the were on "red" on the indicator which means you had to get a re arm kit as soon as you bought it. I know inflatables are nice and compact but for safety the old school bass boat style jackets is what you want to have on if you hit the water at high speed.

I tend to agree with churly. I know they are hot in the warmer months; but I feel better in a good 'ol vest. And in the winter I leave it on all the time if its real cold because its added warmth over your layers.

Dad got us both 1 of these last year and they're great.
