I'm in the market for some new sunglasses for the boat. Fishing ledges to sight fishing. Any recommendations? Brands? Lens color?

Costa blue 580 glass lenses hands down. After fishing all day I would get headaches behind my eyes. I was told that this was due to eye strain. Costa have a coating to minimize this, I fished this past weekend both days (CBA&273) no headaches. And the warranty is awesome.

I had the 580G lenses at first, but to my surprise the weight would start to wear on the bridge of my nose after a long day. I had my prescriptions installed by Costa but used 400P black lenses and believe it or not I forget that I'm wearing them and I can see into the water just as well as I could the 580G blue mirror lenses. I think Costa just has that good of a lens quality.

Look into Vicious Vision glasses as well. I found them to be brighter than my Costa's and started using Vicious OVER my costas. Both are great though.

glass is supposed to be better clarity. I just ordered some green mirror 580g tuna alleys. I am considering the silver mirror brines as a second pair. Not sure they will be necessary though.

I have had several Costas and they make great lenses but the rubber they use on the nose and ear pads turns to a sticky mess after a while. I have replaced the nose pads several times which requires sending them in to Costa with $12.00 I think it is. Must be some chemical reaction to me because I am the only one I know that has this problem. All three pair I have owned did this along with a pair of Maui Jims. All of the Costas I have are the 580G lens which is very heavy and leaves sore spots on my nose if I wear them all day long. I think the green mirror 580P or 400P would be the best choice for fresh water. My blue ones are very dark.

I bought a pair of Revo glasses while out in Texas a while back and they are now my go to glasses. They have great clarity, light weight and no rubber nose pieces to mess up. You can get them in all sorts of different shades for fishing different waters. They are less expensive as well. I doubt I will buy any more Costas.

I also have a couple pair of Maui Jims but they are not polarized. They are super light but do not see in the water very well. I play golf in them.

Appreciate all the replies and suggestions. Anybody know of anything about the wileyx glasses?

I love my wiley x's. I'm about to purchase my third pair. I wear prescription glasses so therefore I get prescription sunglasses as well. I can vouch for the shatter proof lens also. Good luck in whatever you get. I normally get mine from Battlefield optical in ft. O.
