what would be the best prop to put on my boat it is a javelin 377 with a johnson 150 the boat has a good hole shot with just me but fill trhe live well and add another 250lb person and the hole shot sux with me top speed is close to 65 with to people it is close 57-59 thanks in advance

I would check with performance prop in Soddy, they could definitely point you in the right direction. I have a 20' Javelin with a 225 and a 24 pitch 3 blade Raker works best on it.

that is the same prop that is on my boat i changed to a 20 pitch 3blade raker the hole shot is un real i lost around 12 mph at 54gpsed mph it is turning 53/5500 rpms what do you think

It should turn it more rpm's than that with a 20 pitch. The renegade has a better hole shot with a load due to it has a gap between the gear case and prop. This allows then engine to spool up higher. Compare it to "ridding a clutch" when pulling out with a heavier load. I have had some good luck increasing the hole shot by enlarging the exhaust bleeders on the prop. These are the holes located behind the blades close to the gearcase. This will increase the amount of slippage and the rpms prior to the prop getting a bite. When a engine is modified they loose all bottom end power and require more slippage. Here is a video of Wes's bullet running a 26 pitch chopper. It is a over the hub prop and has a lot of exhaust leakage over the blades. It turns 6500 coming out of the hole and as you see has no problem comming up.
