Guys this is no joke. The Big Bass Splash scheduled for this weekend has been postponed and rescheduled for June 22nd and 23rd. I got word about a hour ago from Bob Sealy. There are going to be a lot of fisherman that have taken vacation time and traveled a long way to get here for the event that are going to upset to say the least!

It won't be flooded come Sat and Sun

That MIGHT be true? But LOTS of people come from long distances away for this tournament. Those folks deserve some notice. Tournament officials really could couldn't wait until the last minute to "make the call." It wouldn't have been fair for those traveling significant distances.

I heard this earlier and was hoping it wasn't true. This is my favorite time of year to fish. By tuesday the water will be down 3ft from its peak and probably close to the same level it was last year during the event. We will have a cold front moving through which can bring out the giants. I was actually thinking it was setting up perfect for the BBS. I only saw one big floater today and a few sticks here and there. We had almost the same conditions last year for it with the water going up 5ft before the tx and the water was falling through the BBS. Well what a let down, and I hate it for all the people who registered early. They should most definitely get their money back if they can't fish in june. This is why I wait to register right before the event! Well I vented, but it stinks for sure!!

Is the Northwest Georgia High School tx still this week end out of Chester Frost? That's usually quite a few boats.

Yes around 160 boats

I’ve fished several of his tournaments in Louisiana and Texas and I this is the first one I’ve heard of him moving

Got the call myself. They told me no refunds. I'm quite upset I didn't pay to fish in June I played to fish in march. The right thing to do is give anglers the option to choose

I disagree with the no refunds part but it says it in the rules so it should not be challenged. Also, I really preferred to fish this time of year as well...but June can be really good as well. I commend them on letting people know as early as possible and taking the safety of the competitors into consideration. I guess I will see you guys in June now as well...LOL

"Bennett said the numbers were increasing every day but at least 200 people had already registered for the tournament. Tournament officials said more than 550 anglers registered for last year’s event on Chickamauga and they were hoping to exceed 1,000 this year. The two-day entry fee is $210. One-day entry is $160. The total payout for the Chickamauga tournament is $153,500. Payouts are based upon the biggest bass caught, including hourly winners during the two-day event."

This is probably the real reason. No refunds? Really?

Really!!! No refunds???

Do you have the option to fish another tournament... or apply your entry fee to next year's Chickamauga BBS (assuming there will be one).

Or did they just say, "Too bad. You lost your money?"
