I plan on fishing it Sunday. Hard to estimate boat count but you can have up to 3 people fishing per boat and if it's anything like what they draw on guntersville I would expect 600-800 entries easily.

No way they will draw 600 boats on Chickamauga. As of Monday they only had 160 entries.

I never said boats, 600 to 800 entries. Again you can fish 3 per boat and the last two I fished at Guntersville they had over 600 and honestly I expect the number to be higher here.

Also where did you get that number, as of Tuesday it was well over 200

They have over 160 entries because they gave away 200 free rods to the first 200 that registered. I'm estimating about 500-600 entries.

If they don't have enough rods for everyone, they can kiss it! Richland cr is a horrible place to have this event anyway, because of the long idle and ride in and out, on top of the travel time from where u are fishing. Most folks will need to fish from Sale cr on down to catch a winning lunker. Its not worth the run in to weigh a 4 pounder for say- 7th place only to make 150 bucks. Then what- run back down river to try again? Sensibly, you'd wanna stay from say hwy 60 up to Mud creek . I fished one of these on Table Rock, missed the free rod entry for starters. then had a 3,75 that was good for 200 bucks but I would have had to put my boat on the trailer and drive 45 mins to weigh it in. Until they smarten up and install several weigh in stations around the lake, and give a free rod to Everyone, I'm out. Good luck guys.

I look for all the sloughs near richland to be completely pack this weekend. With so many trying to stay close to be able make short runs to richland creek to weight in. I do agree on having more than one weight in sight.

Richland is too narrow for all this in and out traffic. By sunday at noon, combined with the rain, it'll be a mud hole.

Any one who has ever dealt with scales knows that a fish will rarely weigh the same on different scales. To keep weigh ins fair, all fish should be weighed on the same certified, zeroed scales. If I lost a $20k boat by .01lb by a fish weighed on another scale, I would be livid!! Dayton gets these big events because Dayton pays to bring these events into town. You have to have a strategy to fish these big fish txs.

Justin is dead on. I've fished these on Guntersville and the St. Johns river and you have to watch your phone for the hourly weights and have a strategy on when to weigh your fish. I had a 5 something on Guntersville two years ago and waited at the scales for 20 minutes to see where it would fall, it would have wieghed in 6th if I remember correctly so I put it back in the boat and waited till the 12-1 hour since its normally one of the slower hours and it ended up getting 2nd. Made a big difference.
