BIG BASSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3/11/2007

Put in today to try to get on a few and ended up catching a fish of a lifetime.. Fished with trap and caught a few shorts. so I decided to call it a day when I saw a tree top and pitched my jig in it and thump. I set the hook thinking this was a big cat as it pulled up river then down,never coming up. When it came up I about had heart failure to see this big mouth thrashing in the water and thinking its going to get off and no one will believe but naw I lipped it put it in the boat and realized this is one big fish....9.8 on my digital scales with a gurth of 18 inches and being a little over 24" long. Caught fish on 1/2 oz jig in 8ft on main river channel close to the towers.(TVA)

Didnt mention fish was safely released.. I also had to turn on my bilge pump to not sink my boat with tears...lol

Well Done PerchJerker! That's one more trophy in the lake for someone else to catch. I think that's quite generous and sets a fine example....some keep fish way smaller.

Dude thats awesome... Thats why fisherman like me keep going back out time after time. Strick out after strick out. From freezing cold to burning hot... we keep going back out to just have the one shot to catch and release a fish like that one. I know my day will come. I just have to keep going back out there.... Nice fish buddy.
