Well it could happen... Several years ago a planned event that was an open flea market sale was held on 58 Hwy for CFF members. I think manybenefitedfromthesales and deals.

I would love to see about planning a bigger than life CFF Swap Meet for all members, guest and the general public who should wander in.. I was thinking a church parking lot on anySaturdaywould or could be the location. I see the Classifieds here and feel that we all have tons of equipment someone out there could really enjoy. Also you could earn some bucks to support your fishinghabit. The primary items sold should be fishing and/or boating related items.

As for the Benefit part, I feel a minimal set up fee should be charged that should be designated to help fund theannualCFF Picnic and a portion of which donated to the church for appreciation for the use of their space.

I am very interested in helping to gather a panel of members to set this up and kick it off..

It is high time we get all that equipment out we do not use and into the hands of someone who could really use it... and make a few bucks as well... Lets do it.

This will also serve as a meet and greet. A time to share our tricks, tips and methods and a general great time for all.

Please voice your opinions and suggestions.

Having it on a Saturday would keep attendance down because most of us fish that day. Having it on a Sunday (1-5 in the afternoon) would be a good day. I'm up for it.

When I said Saturday I knew that would really effect our fishing day, especially for TX events. A Sunday on church property and being symbolic of the money changers in the scripture would be a definite no on a Sunday to many. Finding a location will be the first hurdle. A business with a large parking area would be wise to allow the event due to the boost for their business that day. Especially a store or restaurant. I thought about a public community park and acquiring permits.. I am very open for ideas and suggestions.

great idea .....finding a place will be biggest prob......please post when details are worked out ......will bring some folks with me......

What would getting camp Columbus to allow us to use the covered shelter area with the bathrooms, Just a Idea, you would be able to try out your newly purchased rod and real combo with custom lure........ well it was a thought. emoGeezer

I would check with some of the boat dealers. They will get free potential customers on their property.

If we used Camp Columbus then mostly other forum members would attend and we might not pick up some of the market we would be targeting, unless we do a lot of advertising. I think we should try for the Northgate parking lot where the traveling circus normally has set up. You have to have some sort of permission I am sure though. ANother alternative might be the area near the marina off 153 at the dam. Some of the car clubs have had swap meets there with some success.

Seventh day Adventist church? First thing that popped into my mind.

Then again we need a common easy access location. I may go fishing for a location on 58 Hwy this week. I also plan to go talk to the Ranger in the office at Booker T Washington State Park for the use of their big parking area near the pool There they have rest rooms and I am pretty sure drinking water... Vendors should bring Sodas, Gator aids and bottled water to sell from their cooler..

Im in. I think a boat dealer parking lot would be great. Im sure they would allow it for th boost in sales. Be a good place for the custom guys like nuclear rods and cutthroat lures to set up a booth as well. Could easily turn into an annual thing.

I say have it in East Ridge at the old Kmart parking lot, plenty of room and plenty of parking, even room to put boats for sale also.. Just a thought. I would be there and more than likely buy more than I sell, emolaugh

I think that's the best idea yet, tons of room there, right next to the interstate, easy access, could put a big banner up so people know what the heck's going on when they drive, could put some signs before the moore road exit that read "FISHING EXPO OLD KMART PARKING LOT THIS EXIT".

emoBigsmile how about having it on Sportsman's Warehouse parking lot, I'm sure they would agree and as we get a little cash , we can go inside and spend it again........called cash flow.......... emoUpsmile ................ emoGeezer emoUSA
